Trevor Bachman's SHAPESHIFTERS Commemorates 50th Anniversary Of Stonewall

Composer and vocalist Trevor Bachman debuts their new musical Shapeshifters to commemorate 50 years of Stonewall at its birthplace, on Christopher Street. Madame's Soiree, The Duplex Developmental Stage, and The Denovan Residency team up to present a hybrid concert experience celebrating queer community and Bachman's most recent work, Shapeshifters.

New York City meets Weimar Republic in a gripping musical love letter to LGBTQIA+ legacy and community. Trevor Bachman, creator of FARMED: A Live Podcast Album, is praised by the NY Times as "musically and vocally rich" and noted for "golden-voiced", "soulful vocals". Shapeshifters, a new musical, is described as part Queer Zine, part Spotify Playlist. A fresh suite of songs and poetry shines light on the role of queerness as historical opposition to fascism. Bridging the past, present, and future, Shapeshifters is a musical survival guide for uncertain times.

The event will feature Trevor Bachman (BLACK LIGHT), Jorja Angel Brown (CHARM), Jonathan Christopher (FARMED), Bee Franklin, Tenzin Gund-Morrow (BERNSTEIN'S MASS), Daniel Alexander Jones (BLACK LIGHT), Lailah Lancing, Maya Sharpe (HAIR), Futaba Shioda (RENT NAT'L TOUR), Kuhoo Verma (THE BIG SICK) with Keiji Ishiguri on keys and Noel Brennan on percussion.

The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher Street (at the corner of 7th Avenue) in the West Village. Doors open at 9:15pm and the concert event begins at 9:30pm on Thursday, January 24th. Purchase your tickets HERE.
