The awards showcase will feature performances by 50 student participants representing 25 professional theaters across America.

Comedian Russell Brand will make his Las Vegas debut at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Friday, July 22. Brand, who also is an actor and an acclaimed author, will take the Mandalay Bay Theatre stage for only one night at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Dee Dee Bridgewater will perform a tribute to the legendary Billie Holiday that will feature selections from Bridgewater's latest recording, 'Eleanora Fagan (1915-1959): To Billie With Love From Dee Dee,' for which Ms. Bridgewater received the 2011 Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album. She will sing and scat her way to a fresh interpretation of Holiday's signature melodies, accompanied by the quartet of Edsel Gomez (Piano), Kenny Davis (Bass), Jaz Sawyer (drums) and Craig Handy (reeds). Greta Gerwig and Alison Pill have been added to the cast of Woody Allen's latest film, The Bop Decameron, which begins filming July 11 in Rome, according to Hollywoodreporter.com. The complete cast line-up, announced Monday, includes Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg and Ellen Page. Allen will also act in the film as well as write and direct.

In the midst of finishing up Footloose and filming Rock of Ages in Miami, Julianne Hough found some time to support the American Humane Association at the VA Medical Center in Manhattan, giving a concert for patients with therapy dogs. While on hand, Hough helped launch the American Humane Association's voting campaign for the inaugural 'Hero Dog Awards.' CESAR Canine Cuisine will be making donations to the American Humane Association for each vote cast for a favorite dog hero at www.HeroDogAwards.org, helping to promote the use of therapy dogs to those in need. Hough spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the project, making sure to also reiterate how much fun the cast and crew are having in Miami on the ROCK OF AGES set.
