59E59 Theaters has announced the 2012 line up for the 8th annual EAST TO EDINBURGH festival, beginning tonight, July 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 29. Each July, 59E59 Theaters hosts a plethora of innovative US productions en route to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world. Created as a way to help shows get on their feet before flying off to Scotland, EAST TO EDINBURGH simulates the same production constraints that all shows experience during the Festival, while giving them a clean, comfortable and nurturing space to fine-tune their productions. This whirlwind three-week festival, featuring 16 productions, reflects some of the most adventurous theater from NY and across the US.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION will feature a post-show talkback discussion with Scott Kelley, Assistant Vice President for Vincentian Scholarship in the Office of Mission and Values and Assistant Professor in the Religious Studies Department at DePaul University, and James Halstead, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at DePaul University, following the 1:00 p.m. performance on Sunday, July 29 at the Mercury Theater, 3745 N. Southport in Chicago.

Danny Bolero (Broadway's In The Heights), Mel Johnson Jr. (Broadway's The Lion King, Hot Feet, The Rink), Beth McVey (Broadway's Beauty and the Beast, 42nd Street, Nine), ANITA WELCH (Avenue Q National Tour), Tim Young (Broadway's Next To Normal) and EJ ZIMMERMAN (Avenue Q National Tour) will star in Riley Thomas' subway tuner STUCK in the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Chicago's Theater Oobleck has decided to confront the mystery in its own "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" fashion with The Hunchback Variations, now at 59E59 Theaters.

Primary Stages have announced casting for Harrison,TX: Three Plays by Horton Foote, the first production of their 28th Season. Tony Award nominees Hallie Foote (Dividing the Estate) and Jayne Houdyshell (Follies, Well) will head up an ensemble featuring Devon Abner (Dividing the Estate), Mary Bacon (Rock 'N' Roll on Broadway, Motherhood Out Loud at Primary Stages), Jeremy Bobb (Is He Dead on Broadway, Shipwrecked at Primary Stages), Alexander Cendense (A View From the Bridge), Andrea Lynn Green (Giant at Dallas Theatre Center), Evan Jonigkeit (History Boys at Arden Theatre Company), and Jenny Dare Paulin (Dividing the Estate). Helmed by Tony Award nominated director Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park, A Lifetime Burning at Primary Stages), Harrison,TX runs July 24 - September 15 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.

New York City's Drama Desk-nominated Parallel Exit returns to the Joyce SoHo for the third time, to present the world premiere of I LOVE BOB, an evening-length comic ballet, from July 20-29, 2012 at 7:30pm at Joyce SoHo, 155 Mercer Street (between Houston & Prince). Produced by The University of Alabama, HELL: PARADISE FOUND begins performances on Tuesday, July 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 22.

The Minervae, directed by Stephen Kaliski, will be performed free to the public for all performances. Set in the dying days of the Roman Empire, The Minervae - combining both classic theatrical elements with a modern, humorous twist - tells the story of one mythological goddess who refuses to move over for the fashionable new "cult" of Christianity. Jilted, Minerva sets out to re-convert the converted. Standing in her way are the schemes of the other Olympians: bitter Vulcan, volatile Mars, ambitious Apollo, and the enigmatic Diana. The Astoria Free Theatre Project is a bi-annual theatre production produced by On The Square Productions. The aim of this project is to bring a free, professional piece of new writing to a found space in Astoria. Athens Square Park is located in Astoria, Queens at the intersection of 30th Ave and 30th St just off the 30th Avenue stop of the N/Q lines. Admission is first come, first serve.

Mind The Gap Theatre will present Jessica Fleitman's comedy Deuteranomaly: A One-Act in Two Parts as part of the 4th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The production will be directed by Mind The Gap's Artistic Director, Paula D'Alessandris (Under The Blue Sky at The Kraine; The Cleric at 59E59). The Festivity will take place May 30th through June 24th at The Theatres at 45 Bleecker in New York City.
