This week THEATER TALK, features our annual Tony Wrap up, an AndrewAndrew report from the TONY Red Carpet and a discussion about J.B. Priestley's lost theatrical gem Cornelius. James Braly's LIFE IN MARITAL INSTITUTION (20 Years of Monogamy in One Terrifying Hour), written by and starring James Braly, directed by Hal Brooks (Colin Quinn's Long Story Short, Nilaja Sun's No Child...), and presented and produced by Meredith Vieira Productions, will travel to Bass Performance Hall's McDavid Studio for 6 performances, June 26-30, 2013.

Long Wharf Theatre and the International Festival of Arts and Ideas will present Stuck Elevator, written by New Haven resident Aaron Jafferis, with music by Byron Au Yong, directed by Chay Yew, from June 20-29.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company will host two initiatives giving behind-the-scenes looks at the process of developing and producing new plays for local theatergoers and theater professionals from around the country alike. As part of the eighth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, Steppenwolf continues First Look 101, a unique two-month experience from June 1 - August 10 that takes enrolled participants on a backstage journey through all aspects of the new play development process-from the first rehearsal to the final performance. In addition, Steppenwolf hosts a Professionals' Weekend, August 8 - 11, during which theater practitioners join Steppenwolf in conversation about new plays, and attend First Look productions and readings in addition to special industry events.

Our young playwright takes the audience and his colleagues (a bevy of the theatre's usual characters - from the penny-pinching producer to the know-it-all-intern) on a surreal, unapologetic journey through the creative process. Get ready... the audience may become part of the action as well.

Dallas Theater Center announced the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Fly, a new musical based on J.M. Barrie's novel, Peter Pan. Three-time Tony Award-winning producer Jeffrey Seller (Rent, Avenue Q, In the Heights) makes his directorial debut with this production.
