Ego Actus Presents WHAT DO YOU MEAN, 6/15-6/23

By:

Chris Oakmont is thrilled. His play has been accepted into a theatre festival ... all he has to do now is write it.

what do you mean, an uproarious "play without a play," starts with Chris onstage, frantically creating a play, word for word. Our young playwright takes the audience and his colleagues (a bevy of the theatre's usual characters - from the penny-pinching producer to the know-it-all-intern) on a surreal, unapologetic journey through the creative process. Get ready... the audience may become part of the action as well.

Find out what producers don't want you to know ... and why Sophocles will be pissed!

Ego Actus is the brainchild of Joan Kane (voted one of Martin Denton and NYTheatre's 2011 People of the Year in 2011) and Bruce A! Kraemer and while the company is not yet half-a-decade, it's rapidly dotting the skyline of independent theatre with quality productions of new and exciting works - and celebrated for it. Ego Actus currently has projects opening at the 2013 Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival (Love Stinks, a new play by Kate Rader); Theater for the New City (Norway Plays, drama after Ibsen, in cooperation with the Scandinavian American Theater Company) and Safe, a play by Penny Jackson, opening at 59E59 Theaters before moving to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
