For theaters across the country, the post-pandemic time has brought critical challenges. The 2022-23 Kitchen Theatre Company season was strategically planned with the expectation of moderate increases in ticket sales and individual gifts. As is true at many other theaters, audiences have not returned in significant enough numbers to meet costs, and emergency government funding has been sunset. 

Rebecca Bradshaw (she/her), Associate Producer of Boston's Huntington Theatre, and Cary Bland Simpson (she/they), Director of Corporate & Special Events at Only Make Believe have been named the new Producing Artistic Director and Managing Director of Ithaca's Kitchen Theatre Company, respectively, effective July 1, 2021.

The Kitchen Theatre Company finishes out the streaming portion of its 2020-2021 Season, The Journey to 30, with Bloom Where You're Planted: A Twenty Year Artistic Journey, a film by Artistic Director Emerita Rachel Lampert and former Associate Producing Director, Lesley Greene.

 In light of its recently cancelled run of Catch As Catch Can, along with the annual Lip Sink Fundraiser and of the growing threat the novel coronavirus poses to public health and safety, Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) is putting plans in place to ensure the future stability of the theatre while continuing its engagement with the Ithaca community.

On May 11, 2019, Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) presented its second annual Lip Sink Spring Fundraiser.

On March 24, 2018, Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) presented its first ever Lip Sink Spring Fundraiser. Celebrating M. Bevin O'Gara's first season as Producing Artistic Director at KTC, the evening brought the community together in support of the theatre. Teams of performers chose songs to lip sync and dance to, and fundraised on behalf of the theatre, culminating in an incredible show, delighting the audience of KTC supporters. The event was hosted by longtime Kitchen Theatre actor and local favorite Karl Gregory. The fundraising celebration featured an open bar, buffet, and a dance party (DJ Gibran).

Kitchen Theatre Company, Central New York's Off Broadway theatre, announces its 2017-2018 season. This is the first season for incoming Producing Artistic Director, M. Bevin O'Gara, who will be joining longtime Managing Director, Stephen Nunley. Kitchen TheatreCompany is known for its intimate 99-seat space, now owned by the theatre, and for the bold, intimate, engaging work it has produced for over 25 years. The 27th season will include seven plays aimed at starting 'important conversations,' presented from September to June.

M. Bevin O'Gara, award-winning director and associate producer of Boston's Huntington Theatre, has been named the new producing artistic director of Ithaca's Kitchen Theatre Company, effective July 1, 2017.

The Board of Directors of Ithaca's Kitchen Theatre Company has launched a$188,000 campaign to 'Burn the Mortgage' in honor of Artistic Director Rachel Lampert's retirement and her twenty years of visionary leadership. 

 Kitchen Theatre Company's 2016-17 season marks the start of the theater's second quarter century. From the world premiere of Wendy Dann's Birds of East Africa to the hilarious encore production of Precious Nonsense, it promises to be one to remember. Darian Dauchan's Death Boogie showcases his mastery of multi-character solo work, accompanied by live musicians on bass and violin. It is a hip hop musical that is part performance, part concert and all Darian. Clean Alternatives by Brian Dykstra was ahead of the curve when first produced, with its focus on the environment and our shared responsibility to ensure a sustainable planet. Alexander Thomas' Throw Pitchfork is a brilliantly performed solo performance by one of KTC's favorite actors.Sex With Strangers by Laura Eason explores the high-powered, cutthroat world of publishing and two passionate writers' relationship to fame and to each other. Opening the season is the irreverent, buckle-your-seat-belts, Tony-nominated Hand To God by Robert Askins.

FitzandStartz Productions continues its inaugural season in March 2016 with an original musical for all ages. I HAVE A SONG TO SING, O! features book by Rachel Lampert and music by Gilbert & Sullivan. I HAVE A SONG TO SING, O! runs for four performances only: Today, March 26 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, and Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Kitchen Theatre Company Artistic Director Rachel Lampert has informed the Board of Directors that the 2016-2017 / 26th Season will be her final season at the theater. 'Next season will be my twentieth as Artistic Director, and I feel that is a milestone and an appropriate time to start new endeavors - my third act. I wanted to be sure the Board of Directors had ample time to find the next Artistic Director, so I have let them know of my plans,' says Lampert. Lampert's tenure has been marked by Kitchen Theatre Company's evolution from a struggling upstart to an established cultural center for Ithaca, Tompkins County and Central New York. She has championed the work of artists of color, women and LGBTQ writers, directors and actors. As a producer, she is recognized for her savvy ability to choose seasons that keep subscribers returning while provocatively pushing the envelope and always maintaining the core mission that 'important conversations happen in the Kitchen.'

FitzandStartz Productions launches its inaugural season in November 2016 with an original musical for all ages: WINTER TALES, with book & lyrics by Rachel Lampert and music by Lesley Greene, the founders of the new company. WINTER TALES runs for four performances only: today, November 14 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, and Today, November 21 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. All performances will be held at Kitchen Theatre Company.
