GODS & KINGS Industry Readings to be Held Next Week


On June 15th and 16th,  The Other Mirror will present a staged reading of the new GODS & KINGS. A Theban king goes to pieces after snubbing the Greek god Dionysus and his pack of wild groupies in this alt-rock adaptation of Euripides's ripping tragedy, The Bacchae. It features music by Neil Douglas Reilly (Clinton the Musical, Little Dancer, Rocky), a book by Austin Ruffer, and lyrics by Maggie Herskowitz (The Edelweiss Pirates) and Austin Ruffer.   The reading is directed by Katherine M. Carter (Drama League, Playwrights Horizons, Artistic Director of The Other Mirror) with music Producer/Supervision by James Dobinson (Clinton the Musical).

Opening at Lyric's Plaza Theatre January 28 and running through February 15, PAGEANT's contestants experience the thrill of success and the agony of defeat every night as each audience chooses their own winner. After successful runs of this show in 2004 and 2006, Lyric is excited to bring this crowd pleaser back to Oklahoma City.

44th Annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Lineup Announced


The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will host more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 44th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 16-21, 2012. In January and February of this year, these artists from eight regions presented their outstanding work and were selected to travel to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in National Festival events taking place at the Kennedy Center.
