Melody Rodriguez BIO

A bilingual singer, recording artist, writer, and stage actor, Melody Rodriguez has established herself as a performer that shines in many genres of the industry.

Her band has performed for a Jennifer Lopez birthday bash, The NFL, Univision, WebMD, The American Cancer Society, and a private event for Martha Stewart.

Rodriguez’s dynamic has landed her prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall, and has shared the stage with notable acts, such as Earth-Wind-and-Fire and Gloria Gaynor.

As an actress, she received her formal training from the CAP21 Conservatory, where she received a Bachelors of Science in Theatre Arts and English, and would go on to play some coveted roles on the stage. One reviewer in Broadway World said, “Ms. Rodriguez is extraordinary... proving to be one of the strongest performances in the production”.

Her most recent credit is playing the role of Daniela in a regional production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-Award Winning musical In the Heights, of which she performed alongside original Broadway cast members.

BWW Reviews: CARRIE, THE MUSICAL at SoLuna Studio

Carrie, The Musical - music by Michael Gore, Lyrics by Dean Pitchford, and book by Lawrence D. Cohen - has had an interesting life; one of the most popular movies of all time, one of the biggest Broadway flops of all time, and, after many revisions by the original creators, had a successful off-Broadway limited engagement in 2012.

BWW Reviews: No Day But Today To See RENT At SoLuna

I'm always cautious in seeing a regional production of Jonathan Larsen's Rent as I have become a Renthead over the years. The thing to remember is art has different interpretations. SoLuna Studio Artistic Director and Owner Karen Braun fantastically directs and choreographs this slightly reimagined take on Mr. Larson's Tony and Pulitzer winning musical. Running through July 27th, some adjustments were made for SoLuna's vision including an unexpected twist the last moment of the show.
