Photos: Broadway Community Attends WEST SIDE STORY Screening


Last night, the Broadway community was invited to an advance screening of Steven Spielberg's new West Side Story film adaptation. The screening was hosted by members of the cast and creative team including Kevin McCollum, Brian d’Arcy James, Tony Kushner, Jeanine Tesori, Paul Tazewell and Justin Peck. Jennifer Ashley Tepper's THE UNTOLD STORIES OF BROADWAY, VOLUME 4 to be Released in March


Dress Circle Publishing has announced the release of THE UNTOLD STORIES OF BROADWAY, VOLUME 4, the latest in a series by historian and producer Jennifer Ashley Tepper. The book will be available on Tuesday, March 9 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the 2020-2021 Broadway shutdown.

Sixty years ago this month, West Side Story opened on Broadway to become one of the best-loved musicals of all time. To celebrate this historic event, Dancers Over 40 will assemble a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime panel of original cast members nearly to the day of their 1957 debut.

Marilyn D'Honau is not only the youngest surviving cast member of the original production of West Side Story, she was also the youngest when the show opened in 1957. D'Honau was a sixteen- year-old high school senior when she was cast as Clarice, one of the Jet girls. Though she'd been performing professionally since she was twelve, she credits having good ballet training for her successful audition.

BC/EFA presents the 19th Annual Gypsy of the Year Competition on December 17 & 18 at the New Amsterdam Theatre; hosted this year by Jackie Hoffman, Mary Testa & Bob Saget.
