Living on Love opened last night, April 20, 2015 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street).

An all-star line-up of Broadway performers united to honor legendary composer, Stephen Sondheim. The evening celebrated the journey of Woods and Sondheim from stage to screen. Film talent in attendance included actors Billy Magnussen, Lilla Crawford and MacKenzie Mauzy. To kick off the release of famed Sirius XM radio host Seth Rudetsky new book Seth's Broadway Diary, Dress Circle Publishing (Brisa Trinchero and Roberta Pereira, founders) hosted a special book launch concert event last night at Don't Tell Mama (343 W 46th St). Broadway stars Kelli O'Hara, Judy Kuhn, Anika Larsen, Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Chip Zien and Marc Shaiman who are featured in the book performed excerpts and some of Seth's favorite songs. Earlier this week, Drama Desk and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti ('The Sound of Music Live!', Gypsy, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) hosted the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). Big winners for the night included Audra McDonald, Bryan Cranston, Jessie Mueller, and Neil Patrick Harris and Jefferson Mays- who tied for Outstanding Actor in a Musical.

The Theatre World Awards took place last night, June 2, at Circle in the Square (West 50th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue), home of the current Broadway revival of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. 2014 Honorees for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance included: Paul Chahidi, Nick Cordero, Bryan Cranston, Mary Bridget Davies, Sarah Greene, Rebecca Hall, Ramin Karimloo, Zachary Levi, Chris O'Dowd, Sophie Okonedo, Emerson Steele, and Lauren Worsham. The 2014 Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater Winner went to Celia Keenan-Bolger for her performance as Laura in The Glass Menagerie and the 2014 John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre Winner went to Christopher Plummer.
Neil Patrick Harris officially returned to Broadway last night at the Belasco Theatre, in the new production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the musical with book by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, directed byMichael Mayer and featuring Lena Hall. Four-time Tony® Award winning playwright Terrence McNally just celebrated two milestones on The Great White Way-his 20th Broadway production and the 50th Anniversary of his Broadway debut-with the opening night of his newest play, Mothers and Sons, at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) last night, March 24, 2014. Over the course of five decades, Mr. McNally has chronicled the human experience with a wide range of works including Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, The Full Monty, Ragtime, Master Class, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Kiss of the Spider Woman,The Rink, The Ritz, and Bad Habits.
