Director Eline Arbo And Five New Actors Joining Internationaal Theater Amsterdam


Internationaal Theater Amsterdam has announced that director Eline Arbo has committed herself to the theatre as Associate Artistic Director. Alongside director Ivo van Hove, she will be part of the artistic core of ITA. From January '23, Arbo will be appointed Ibsen Artist in Residence, an initiative of the Philip Loubser Foundation, which gives directors with an international ambition the opportunity to develop themselves artistically.

Who Killed My Father by Edouard Louis is an anger-driven declaration of love to his father. At the same time, it is an indictment of the political elite who neglected and abandoned labourers such as Louis' father. Van Hove has translated the novel and adapted it as a monologue for Hans Kesting.

Julien Gosselin Makes Directorial Debut at Internationaal Theater Amsterdam


With French director Julien Gosselin, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam will be adding one of the world's greatest young directing talents to the theatre company. ITA previously brought his successful productions Les Particules Elementaires and 2666 to Amsterdam. In his debut with the ITA ensemble, Falling Man, Gosselin reflects on global terrorism and its effect on a family in New York during the aftermath of 9/11. The performance - with Eelco Smits, Hans Kesting, Maria Kraakman, Chris Nietvelt et al. - will have its world premiere in Amsterdam on 17 March. Performances on Thursday 21 and 28 March will be surtitled in English.
