At once a razor-sharp comedy and a sincere tribute to democracy, The Outsider is a timely and hilarious take on American politics. Ned Newley doesn't even want to be Governor. He's terrified of public speaking; his poll numbers are impressively bad. To his ever-supportive Chief-of-Staff, Ned seems destined to fail. But a hired political consultant sees things differently. Ned might be the worst candidate to ever run for office. Unlessa?? that's just what the voters want.

Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre opens its 21st Season with Jessica Swale's NELL GWYNN, a comedy based on the true story of an orange vendor who becomes one of the most celebrated actresses in 17th Century London - and King Charles II's mistress. The play follows Nell from rags to riches, as she transforms from a bawdy orange seller on the street to a revered actress, who was ahead of her time during an era where it was a novelty to see women grace the stage. Accompanied by friends, theatre colleagues, and her lover the King, Nell finds herself ascending to high society while trying to forget her meager background. The cast includes Courtney Moors as Nell, Eugene H. Russell as Charles Hart, Robert Shaw-Smith as King Charles accompanied by a talented ensemble.

STAGE DOOR PLAYERS (SDP) opens its 44th season with the thrilling drama, Dial M For Murder, by Frederick Knott on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Theatre's home in the North Dekalb Cultural Arts Center at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody.

Continuing the 43rd Season of Dunwoody's very own professional theatre, STAGE DOOR PLAYERS presents the return of the Suzi Bass Award winning holiday comedy, Let Nothing You Dismay by Atlanta's own Topher Payne. Shannon Eubanks directs. The show opens on Friday, December 2, and runs through Sunday, December 18. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm.
