Wiener Staatsoper has announced further dates of their streaming schedule. They have brought together their very current productions including Eugen Onegin or Cavalleria rusticana / Pagliacci with highlights from their archive.

For the period of the temporary closure (3 to 30 November 2020 inclusive), the Vienna State Opera will offer video recordings from the digital archive as a stream free of charge.

On Friday 30th October 2020 Isotopia Records will release a new digital EP titled The Quarantine Triology Third Wave.

On Friday 29th May 2020 Isotopia Records (www.isotopiarecords.com) will release a digital EP entitled The Quarantine Triology,  a recording of instrumental works written and performed by Constance Hauman during the Covid-19 pandemic in New York.

Orlando was a deeply engaging, intriguing and thought-provoking exploration whose pondering, messages, striking soundscapes and visuals reverberated and lingered long after the curtain had closed. It is a highly ambitious undertaking but Neuwirth and her colleagues were up for the challenge. What is most exciting is what has now been established for a venue such as The Wiener Straatsoper as we move into a new decade of uncertain times when it is vital that radical expressions of art and activism combined are given such a grand stage with which to proclaim their truths.

On 8th December 2019, internationally celebrated American soprano, Constance Hauman, (www.constancehauman.com) will make her Vienna State Opera Debut. She will perform three roles (Queen Elizabeth I, Purity, Friend of Orlando's Child) in the cast of Orlando, a world premiere opera by Austrian composer, Olga Neuwirth, who is the first woman to be commissioned to compose an opera for the Vienna State Opera in over 150 years. Orlando is based on the novel (Published 11th October 1928) by Virginia Woolf. Costumes for the production will be designed by the legendary Japanese fashion designer, Rei Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garçons fashion empire.

The American singer, pianist, songwriter, copywriter and producer Constance Hauman is recognized in the world of indie rock as well as classical music. Hauman, one of Leonard Bernstein's favorite interpreters, has sung over 2,000 opera performances and countless concerts at the following venues: Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opera National de Paris, Berlin Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, London Symphony and the London Philharmonia. She wrote, played and directed the one-man show 'Exiles in Paradise,' which caused a sensation at 92nd Street Y in New York, Schönberg Hall in Los Angeles, and the Jewish Museum in Berlin. The Wall Street Journal wrote about the artist: 'Constance Hauman's bright, versatile coloratura soprano made headlines throughout the European music scene as the sex goddess in Alban Berg's Lulu. Her sparkling soprano can be heard in a live recording at Chandos, but now her performance song 'Exiles in Paradise', which has been crafted with a meticulousness that deserves a doctoral degree, is performed with equally divine verve by her. Ms. Hauman interprets Friedrich Hollander's melody of 'Falling in Love Again' with such a sensual brilliance and phrasing that is in no way inferior to Marlene. '

High Tides is the second album by  Constance Hauman. Her critically acclaimed recording, Falling Into Now, made The Guardian's list of the 10 Best Albums of 2015. High Tides features eight new songs written by Hauman and two covers, Everlong by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Les Chemins de l'Amour by French composer, Francis Poulenc. High Tides was produced by Constance Hauman and Ross Pederson - who was also the recording and mix engineer and performs throughout the album on drums, bass and midi.

Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf have announced the first details of their upcoming 2018 US tour as opening act to legendary group George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. The tour is taking place in conjunction with the release of their highly anticipated debut album BAD GET SOME with Isotopia Records. The 'George Clinton Mardi Gras Tour' will be Miss Velvet & The Blue Wolf's first US tour. The 32 city coast to coast tour begins on December 29th in New Orlean's iconic venue Tipitinia and finishing on March 28th at the House of Blues San Diego. Full list below.

When I first saw Souvenir 3 years ago in Brentwood with its Broadway star Judy Kaye, I marveled at her Tony nominated performance, but did not like the play. I took a look at it again Friday at the Falcon Theatre, enjoyed the performances, but have not changed my mind. The production is first rate, but it leaves me cold and sorrowful about the true meaning of friendship.
