Cape Cod Theatre Project Takes Audiences On Unexpected Journey In The South In BUST " An Afro-Currentist Play

BUST, written by playwright and actress, Zora Howard (HULU's Premature) is a true in-development play, is perhaps one of the Cape Cod Theatre Project's most anticipated readings of the season. What starts with a traffic stop of black man, quickly flips the script and a majority of what will transpire afterwards will be developed in the idyllic setting of the Cape and through audience feedback. BWW Review: PIPELINE at Actors Theatre Of Louisville

If Actors Theatre were to make an annual tradition of producing the latest Dominique Morisseau play every January, it would be a reason to rejoice. One year after the indelible Skeleton Crew, director Steve H. Broadnax III, and actor Patrese D. McClain have returned with Pipeline, an even stronger play that implodes the narrative cliches that have weighed down African American stories for generations.
BWW Review: Timely New Play PETROL STATION Premieres at Kennedy Center

Anglo-Kuwaiti writer-director Sulayman Al Bassam's new play PETROL STATION is as of-the-moment as it gets. Drawn from politics, literature, and myth, it features Muslim characters and is densely packed with urgent themes: justice for migrant workers, autonomy for women, cyclical violence. Epic set and lighting design (Eric Soyer) conjure a windswept desert in an imagined borderland torn by civil war, a dramatic backdrop that enhances the actors' delivery of poetic lines.
