'Orphaned Songs for Orphaned Starfish' - a concert of composer Stephen Schwartz (Monday, November 19 at The Cutting Room), was an evening of unsung/cut songs from Wicked, Pippin, Working, and Children of Eden along with a new duet from the stage production of The Prince of Egypt. The concert also included some favorites from The Bakers Wife, Magic Show, Pippin, Pocahontas, Wicked and his opera Seance On a Wet Afternoon. The benefit evening for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation raised over $60,000.

From June 5-24, 2018, Orchestra of St. Luke's will present Facets of Brahms, the second iteration of the Ensemble's chamber music festival. The three programs, featuring the Orchestra's core 23-member St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble, are curated to highlight different perspectives on the musical life of the composer and include Seasons of Brahms, June 5, 6, and 10; Brahms & The Schumanns, with pianist Pedja Muzijevic, June 12, 13, and 17; and Brahms & the Search for a Symphony, June 19, 20, and 24. Discussions led by noted scholars, and musicians will take place prior to each Brahms program.

A new cast album for ASCAP Award-winning writer/director Chip Deffaa's musical play "Irving Berlin's America" (published and licensed by Steele Spring Stage Rights) is being released today. Michael Townsend Wright and Matthew Nardozzi co-star on the new album. Award-winning music producer, critic and translator Lawrence Schulman will give a talk on Judy Garland, entitled 'Moments of Magic,' at the Northeast Harbor Library (Maine) on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 5 P.M. Admission is free. The one-and-a-quarter hour talk will examine Judy Garland's life and career, and feature nine audio-video clips, to be followed by a question and answer. Schulman will endeavor to answer the question: 'If I had just one hour to convince you of Judy Garland's place in classic American popular music, what film and television performances would I choose?' The talk will be followed by a mini-concert of songs Garland sang by famed jazz vocalist Diane Linscott and the equally renowned pianist Scott Cleveland.
