In a special addition to Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's summer shows, theatre legend Tommy Tune will perform for two nights only at the Plaza Theatre, tonight and tomorrow, July 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. In his show TAPS, TUNES AND TALL TALES, Broadway's tallest tapper dances, sings and tell-tales through 50 years of big time showmanship.

"Last summer we had the pleasure of hosting the incredible Chita Rivera and now to have fellow legend Tommy Tune perform on Lyric's stage is such an honor," said Michael Baron, Lyric's artistic director. "Seeing Tune's show is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for many Oklahomans-it shouldn't be missed."

One of Tune's many accolades was the Tony Award for Best Choreography for THE Will Rogers FOLLIES, which will be presented by Lyric the week following TAPS, TUNES AND TALL TALES, July 23-27. The winner of nine Tony Awards and eight Drama Desk Awards, Tune is a celebrated performer, director and choreographer. He was also awarded The National Medal of Arts, which is the highest honor of artistic achievement, given by the President of the United States.

Tickets to the production are now on sale to the general public. To buy tickets, visit Lyric's box office at 1727 NW 16th Street or call (405) 524-9312. Performances will be held at the Plaza Theatre both evenings at 8 p.m.
