Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma presents MURDER FOR TWO, a zany murder mystery musical comedy inspired by Agatha Christie and the Marx Brothers in which everyone is a suspect. Running tonight, March 25 through April 12 at Lyric's Plaza Theatre and coming directly from its smash Off-Broadway run in New York, MURDER FOR TWO is a perfect blend of music, mayhem and murder in which two actors play 13 different roles -- and the piano.

"I had the pleasure of seeing MURDER FOR TWO during its off-Broadway run last year, and I couldn't wait to share it with Lyric's patrons," said Michael Baron, Lyric's artistic director. "You'll be amazed as one actor plays all the suspects, the other investigates the crime, and they both play virtuosic piano. It is the first time Lyric has presented a national tour, and it will be a truly unique experience for our audiences."

Written by Joe Kinosian (Music) and Kellen Blair (Lyrics), with Kinosian and Blair collaborating on the book, MURDER FOR TWO pays homage to old-fashioned murder mysteries and classic musical theatre.

Kellen Blair, lyricist, is thrilled to have MURDER FOR TWO playing at Lyric's Plaza Theatre. "They've demonstrated good taste and sound judgment ever since naming themselves after what is clearly the most important part of musical theatre writing." Joe Kinosian, composer, is equally thrilled to have his and Kellen's work performed at the Lyric, although he would like to respectfully submit that "they're called 'musicals' and not 'lyricals' for good reason."

MURDER FOR TWO will star Kyle Branzel as The Suspects, and Ian Lowe as Marcus. Branzel's other performance credits include the national tour of HENRY AND MUDGE, as well as regional productions of FOOTLOOSE and GUYS AND DOLLS. Lowe appeared in the off- Broadway run of MURDER FOR TWO; other off-Broadway credits include NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, BAYONETS OF ANGST, and TWELFTH NIGHT.

Single tickets are now on sale, and start at $25. To buy tickets, visit Lyric's box office at 1727 NW 16th Street, call (405) 524-9312, or visit LyricTheatreOKC.com. The Plaza Theatre is located at 1725 NW 16th Street.
