Samuel French Inc will celebrate the release of the OFF OFF BROADWAY FESTIVAL PLAYS, 35TH SERIES, Thursday, February 10th at The Drama Book Shop (250 West 40th Street) at 6pm. This new publication consists of the six winning plays from the acclaimed 2010 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. All winning playwrights will be present for the launch celebration, which will include readings from each play with a book signing and reception to follow. OFF OFF BROADWAY FESTIVAL PLAYS, 35TH SERIES includes the following winning plays: White Embers by Saviana Stanescu, Skin Deep by Mary Lynn Dobson, Pigskin by Gabriel Jason Dean, Dance Lessons by Josh Koenigsberg, The Mud is Thicker in Mississippi by Dennis A. Allen II, and The Bear (A Tragedy) by E.J.C. Calvert. Copies of the new publication will be for sale at the Drama Book Shop, and at samuelfrench.com where licensing inquiries can also be directed.

Applications for the upcoming 36th Annual Samuel French, Inc., Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival will be available at the event. Submissions are currently being accepted through March 11th, 2011. Interested playwrights may also download the application and Festival guidelines at www.samuelfrench.com/oobfestival.

The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival started in 1975 and is one of Manhattan's most prestigious short play festivals. Hundreds of theatre companies and schools have participated in the Festival's first thirty-five years, including organizations from across the United States and abroad. This Festival has served as a doorway to future success for many aspiring writers. Over the years, 192 submitted plays have been published, and many of the participants have become established, award-winning playwrights. Past Festival participants include Theresa Rebeck, Shirley Lauro, Bekah Brunstetter, Steve Yockey, David Johnston, Saviana Stanescu, and Sheila Callaghan.
