When Alex was just an adolescent, his father killed himself while dressed in a superhero costume. His suicide note claimed he lived a double life as the costumed crime fighter, Captain Moonbeam. Now in his 20s, Alex obsesses over his father's secret diaries and wonders, was his father just crazy, or did he genuinely live his life heroically?

Featuring Rick Cekovsky, James Comtois, Christopher Czyz and Jordan Ungerer.

CAPTAIN MOONBEAM & LYNCHPIN is part of The Comic Book Theater Festival at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Avenue between Union and Lorimer, Brooklyn). Show times are Tuesday, June 21 @ 7pm; Friday, June 24 @ 7pm; Saturday, June 25 @ 5pm; and Sunday, June 26 @ 2pm. James Comtois is the co-founder of the New York-based theatre company, Nosedive Productions, which in 2009 was named as one of nytheatre.com's "People of the Year." He has written over 20 plays in the past 10 years, including The Adventures of Nervous-Boy, Colorful World, Infectious Opportunity and The Little One. Publications include Infectious Opportunity, Suburban Peepshow (both was published by Original Works Publishing) and The Adventures of Nervous-Boy (published in Plays and Playwrights 2007 by the New York Theatre Experience). He has also worked with such companies as the Vampire Cowboys, Flux Theatre Ensemble and Piper McKenzie.

Leigh Hile has worked with such companies as La MaMa ETC, Flux Theatre Ensemble and White Horse Theater Company. New York credits include 8 Women: A Karaoke Murder Mystery, which she also co-produced and adapted, Leslie Lee's The Book of Lambert (AD, LaMaMa ETC), Drawing M (Roots and Wings Theatrical), Small Craft Warnings (White Horse Theater Company) and What Work Is (Manhattan Rep), an original work based on the poems of Philip Levine. She is also a blogger: you can follow her thoughts on theatre and the city at http://leighscityscenes.blogspot.com. Leigh holds a degree from Sarah Lawrence College and is a member of the 2011 Lincoln Center Directors' Lab.

"Comtois & Co. are mining in Gogol's vein: They may make us laugh, but that's what happens when keen-eyed city dwellers tickle a seedy underbelly." Time Out New York

"By thumbing their noses at the status quo with fast, cheap, and sharp humor, Comtois and his colleagues at Nosedive Productions continue to demonstrate why they're a company to keep an eye on." nytheatre.com
