The ninth season of New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series concludes on Monday, December 5, 2016 at The Cell with pre-premieres of two new musicals: "Little Things" and "Sam's Room."

"Little Things" is an original musical for all ages about six quirky third graders who find out recess is getting canceled and fight to get it back. In the vein of Disney classics, the show's unforgettable music and imaginative book remind audiences of the power in pursuing their dreams relentlessly. "Little Things" has music, lyrics and original concept by Bonnie Gleicher and a book by Brandon Michael Lowden. The presentation will be directed by Michel Maricondi.

"Sam's Room" centers around Sam, a nonverbal young man with an intellectual disability, trapped in his own body, and yearning for a voice. "Sam's Room" invites audiences inside the story of one young man's struggle to communicate, ultimately showing the power of the human voice, by giving a voice to someone who has never had one. Sam's Room has a book by Dale Sampson with Trey Coate-Mitchell (who also serves as the director), and music and lyrics by Caitlin Marie Bell (of the folk band Bell) and Marc Campbell (of the pop band Misterwives). The presentation will feature Dale Sampson ("Seussical"), Mallory Hawks ("Seussical"), and Mara Jill Herman ("The Band's Visit").

The presentations will take place at 7:30PM ET at The Cell, located at 338 West 23rd St. in New York City. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online through OvationTix: web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe.c/10122862.
