Iron Jaw Co Announces Casting Changes for World Premiere of Narrator 1

New York Innovative Theatre Award winning actress, Jennifer Harder (MilkMilkLemonade) will replace Coleen Huley as Narrator 1 and actor Aiden O'Shea will replace Ryan Andes* as Narrator 2 in Iron Jaw Company's (Erica Linderman & Kitty Lindsay, producers) World Premiere of Erin Browne's (Trying at the Bushwick Starr; A Meth Play) NARRATOR 1, May 11-29 at The Lion Theater at Theater Row (410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenue). The production will be directed by Iron Jaw's Kitty Lindsay (August Schulenberg's One Night; Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues) and will also feature Rachael Hip-Flores (Trying at the Bushwick Starr), Marco Formosa*, Kyle Kirkpatrick, Matthew Murumba*, and Cotton Wright* (Flux Theatre Ensemble's Angel Eaters). The production will be Stage Managed by Eileen Arnold*.

Zara and Dan are two writers facing a crisis somewhere between mid and quarter life. These two seem-to-be-perfect-for-each-other friends could come together but their written creations - some pesky narrators, some teens in love, and a mysteriously haiku spouting man - have the potential to keep them apart. Can they get past their own romantic hang-ups to find each other through time and the streets of New York, or will they continue to flail in their own imaginations?

The production, presented by Iron Jaw Company will play a three-week engagement at The Lion Theater at Theater Row (410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenue), May 12-29; Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Erin Browne (Playwright) Erin has written the full-length plays A Meth Play, Coffee/Lovelorn, Devil to Pay, Hence, Menders, Narrator 1, Not As of Yet, Return, and Trying. Trying was produced at the Bushwick Starr last year and will be published in New York Theater Review. A radio play version of Trying was the winner of the BBC World Service International Radio Play Contest and was broadcast on BBC World Service; it was also shortlisted for the Richard Imison Award from the Writers' Guild of Great Brittan. A Meth Play was the winner of the National Student Drama Fest's International Playscript Award and received a reading at NSDF. Erin's full-length plays have been read and developed with the help of Flux Theater Ensemble, the Saltbox Theatre, Iron Jaw Company, The Forge, At Hand Theatre Company, Hip Obscurity, Potluck Plays, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, The Flea, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, America in Play, Abingdon Theatre, Columbia University, and New York University. Erin's short plays and collaborative texts have been produced by MadShag, The Forge, PACE University, The Slant Theater Project, Poliglot Theater, Spork Fest, Brooklyn Playwrights Collective, Sticky, Adelphi University, Columbia University, and Brooklyn College. Her screenplays have been award finalists and her poetry widely published. Erin primarily works in television documentaries and primarily lives in Brooklyn. Menders will be produced this winter as part of Flux Theater Ensemble's 2011/2012 season.

KITTY LINDSAY (Director) is an actor, writer, director and stand-up comic in New York City. She is also a proud co-founder and administrator of two Manhattan-based theater companies: Iron Jaw Company and The Shelter. Previous directing credits include August Schulenberg's One Night (Equalogy, Inc.), Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues (The Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, Asst. Director), Stefanie Lee Coren's Studio 356 and Eugene Turonis' No Tengo Ni Mango (The Gene Frankel Theatre as part of The Shelter Presents: 3:56am) as well as Beth Jastroch's Feliz Navi-New Dad (The WorkShop Theater MainStage, as part of The Shelter Presents: F***ing Christmas). Kitty has also directed her own plays including a production of Return to the Island of Misfit Toys (The WorkShop Theater MainStage, as part of The Shelter Presents: F***ing Christmas) as well as staged readings of The Worst Play Ever and Me and My McDonald's (both as part of The Shelter Presents: The Reading Series). Iron Jaw Company was founded by Erica Linderman, Kitty Lindsay, and Teresa Reynolds. These three women all come from creative backgrounds, though their friendship was forged through their real world jobs. A production of The Vagina Monologues inspired them to continue their theatrical journey together. Being involved in the producing of that show helped them realize a need to create real and honest portrayals of women in theatre, and Iron Jaw Company was born. The women of Iron Jaw Company want to create a dialogue with the audience about the roles women play in their homes, work, relationships and society. Above all, we want to present honest and truthful portrayals of women, not caricatures. If we aren't rigorously honest about our work, then we do a disservice to women everywhere who all have a story to tell.
