This summer, Exquisite Corpse Company heads to Governors Island to present its latest, large-scale immersive performance event, Secession 2015. The lives and work of the artists of the Vienna Secession inspire over 20 emerging visual artists to create new pieces.

A company of seven playwrights, four directors, and seven actors will bring the gallery to life in an original performance piece inspired by the same. Creating a living gallery, the audience will weave through walls of art guided by the muses and ghosts that inspired them.

It all takes place on Governors Island, Noland Park, House 17, from August 15 - September 20, 2015. The gallery is open Friday from 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. Performances run Saturday/Sunday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.exquisitecorpsecompany.com. Tickets are $10. The first five online are FREE! - go to artful.ly/store/events.

Exquisite Corpse Company is a Brooklyn-based, integrated performance art collective. Secession 2015 is ECC's latest original performance event, following last summer's WareArt Festival, and the ambitious 2013 production of ODD.A.SEE: an immersive, site-specific retelling of Homer's classic. ECC is committed to creating a community of young artists of all mediums in New York who inspire each other and create together. Throughout the year, ECC's smaller projects, as well as its BlackBox Series reinforces that initiative, showcasing new works by emerging artists of all mediums in singular, immersive events. Above all, the mission of ECC is make theater approachable and newly relevant to everyone.
