After weeks of major renovations, the Davenport Theatre Black Box is now remodelled and renamed The Loft at the Davenport Theatre.

Ken Davenport says, "I wanted to create a space that speaks to today's theatre creators and audience. I've ripped out the old rigid theatre seating, added new flexible seating, and nearly doubled the size of the theatre, which allows for a more creative use of the space. Today's writers, directors and audience want a flexible theatrical venue, and that's exactly what this renovation has done. I'm looking forward to seeing the first production at The Loft at the Davenport Theatre where the audience is on the ceiling."

Housed in a remodelled firehouse conveniently located in the heart of Manhattan's theatre district, the Davenport Theatre offers two unique and fully equipped performance spaces. The Davenport Theatre has the only jewel box in midtown with a maximum seating capacity of 149, which is currently the home of the Off-Broadway production of Shear Madness. The Loft at The Davenport Theatre offers a more intimate experience with a flexible seating capacity of up to 99.

Newly renovated, The Loft at The Davenport Theatre provides up to 810 square feet of playing space, and a maximum seating capacity of 99. Prior to the renovation, the stage was 441 square feet, with a maximum seating capacity of 60.

The first production slated to run at The Loft at the Davenport Theatre is A Dog Story, which begins previews November 3rd.
