Artistic Abandon NYC announces its next production: The Blue Jar, produced by Kate Lala and directed by Mikayla Stanley.

Inspired by Isak Dineson writings and adapted by Casey Scott Leach and Jackson Hille,

The Blue Jar will run from now through April 16, 2016 at The Yard's 246 Fifth. Original choreography by Michelle Stuckey, music by Peter Wolford, costumes by Gabby Grywalski, and art by Igor Gnedo complete the creative team.

An original folk musical, The Blue Jar, tells the story of adventure, romance, and infinite longing set at sea where one young woman discovers the cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.

Prior to its new adaptation, The Blue Jar premiered Off-Broadway at Cherry Lane Theatre in February 2015 to sold out audiences. Artistic and Executive Director Kate Lala will play the role of Helena and Company Member Casey Scott Leach will return in the role of the Sailor. Jackson Hille is also returning in the role of the Narrator. The Mermaid ensemble, played by Eileen Kielty, Katie Taintor, Callie Tepper, Keisha Saddler, and Michelle Stuckey complete the cast.

Artistic Abandon NYC creates platforms for performance and collaboration for emerging New York artists committed to creating fearlessly.
