MAKESHIFT BROADCAST presents When the Rain Stops Falling 4-7 FEBRUARY 2015, 8PM.

First up in the Tron Theatre's Changing House this season is the latest production from Makeshift Broadcast, who last visited the Tron in 2013 with their Mayfesto production Putting Words in My Mouth. This new piece is the Scottish premiere of Australian playwright Andrew Bovell's When The Rain Stops Falling, first presented in Europe at the Almeida Theatre, London in 2010.

Moving from 1950s London to the Australian desert in 2039, When the Rain Stops Falling charts a legacy of betrayal, mysterious disappearances and fish soup in an epic drama that spans four generations of one family across two continents. The sins of the father are visited on the son as secrets and lies send one young man across the hemispheres in search of answers whilst a worldwide environmental disaster unfolds.

Andrew Bovell is an award-winning writer for theatre, film and television and the play was the recipient of the 2008 Victorian Premier's Literary Award and Queensland Premier's Literary Award. Andrew's AWGIE award-winning play Speaking in Tongues has been seen throughout Australia as well as in Europe and the US and Bovell adapted it for the screen as Lantana. He is well known for his screenplays, including Strictly Ballroom and most recently with his adaptation of A Most Wanted Man by John le Carre, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman.
