The Theatre Project's new Off-Broadway engagement of Macbeth, produced in association with their "Exciting and Innovative" rep-company TP&co, runs today, September 5 through October 4, 2014 at The Players Theatre (115 Macdougal Street between West 3rd and Minetta Lane).

Set deep within a prohibition-era speakeasy, TP&co presents a hauntingly inventive adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth, directed by Christian Amato with original music by Eric Fletcher and choreographed by Emily Maddan. This powerful tragedy is full of the frenetic energy and fatalistic attitude of the prohibition era. Vaudeville and burlesque performers transport you back to the Jazz Age of the 1920s, as the audience watches a bloodthirsty cycle of corruption and betrayal unfold.

The production will feature a majority of the company's founding members. Tyler Nye assumes the role of Macbeth and Dominic Sellers in the role of Lady Macbeth. Maggie McGuire, Eric Fletcher and Brianna Hurley (AKA the infamous Pearls Daily) will portray The Weird Sisters. Jonathan Bethea will assume the role of King Duncan and Bridget Dunigan will portray Macbeth's accomplice Banquo. TP&co is proud to feature five new associate members in the production. Emily Maddan, Alex Nicholson, Rebekah Shade, Eric Pfaff and Peter Staley iappear in the production in various roles. Additionally, each performance will feature a fabulous special guest.

Tickets are on sale now online at The Theatre Project website or by calling 212-475-1449. The production runs September 5 through October 4, 2014 at The Players Theatre (115 Macdougal Street between West 3rd and Minetta Lane).
