Too Little Too Late is the first theatrical venture from the young company, Red Elevator Productions. Featuring original and premiere short plays from six of the most promising and arresting young writers on the New York theater scene, Too Little Too Late explores the problem of (dis)connect in a complicated world - because in our breakneck lives of over-stimulus media, instant mass communication, restlessness and expectation - how does anyone really connect?
Too Little Too Late runs for twelve performances only from February 3th - 14nd at the HERE Performing Arts Center, 145 6th Avenue (between Spring and Broome Streets, entrance on Dominick). Lucy Alibar: Lucy is thrilled that MOMMY SAYS... has a respectable New York engagement after its wild, bodice-ripping summer affair at Williamstown Theatre Festival. Her plays have been performed at the Cherry Lane, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Dixon Place, The Tank/Collective Unconscious, the Montreal Fringe Festival (nominated for Best of the Fringe), the Edinburgh Festival, and Avignon. Her plays have been published by Playscripts, Inc, and anthologized in Smith and Krauss Best Stage Scenes of 2002, Actor's Choice: Monologues for Actors, and Great Short Comedies, Volume 3. Lucy was named one of the Dramatist Guild Magazine's "Writers to Watch", and is the recipient of both the 2008 and 2009 Sundance Screenwriter's Fellowship. Her first feature screenplay, "Beasts of the Southern Wild", written with director Benh Zeitlin, is under consideration for the prestigious NHK International Filmmaker's Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. "Beasts", a Southern apocalyptic kid's comedy, is in pre-production with Court 13 Pictures.
Bekah Brunstetter: plays include OOHRAH! (The Altantic Theater, Stage 2, 2009) MISS LILLY GETS BONED (Lark Playwright's Week 2009), YOU MAY GO NOW: A MARRIAGE PLAY (Finborough Theater, London 2010) and FUCKING ART (winner, Sam French SHort Play Festival 2009.) Sam Forman: is a writer for the stage, screen and TV, co-created (with Beau Willimon) the Civil War era television pilot "Hickory Hill" for AMC. Sam is the lyricist and co-book author for the musical I SING! which has been produced commercially off-Broadway and in theaters around the world. A CD recording of the York Theater Concert Cast of I SING! is available in stores worldwide from Jay Records. Sam's other plays and musicals include: THE RISE AND FALL OF ANNIE HALL(Stage 13, dir. Amy Herzog: Amy received the 2008 Helen Merrill Award for Aspiring Playwrights. Her plays have been produced at Ensemble Studio Theater, American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, The Williamstown Theater Festival, The Actors Theatre of Louisville and the Yale School of Drama; she has had readings and workshops at Manhattan Theater Club, New York Stage and Film, Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., The Black Dahlia in Los Angeles, and The Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, among others. Amy recently completed commissions for the Yale Repertory Theatre and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Her short play 508 will be included in the forthcoming Best American Short Plays: 2008-2009, published by Applause Books. Amy is an alumna of Youngblood at Ensemble Studio Theater, a current member of Play Group at Ars Nova and the SoHo Rep Writer/Director Lab, and a Fellow at The Playwrights' Realm. She teaches Playwriting at Bryn Mawr College. MFA in Playwriting, Yale School of Drama.
Elizabeth Meriwether: Liz's play, THE MISTAKES MADELINE MADE was originally produced by Naked Angels Theater, and was subsequently produced at Yale Rep and published by Dramatists Play Service. Her other plays include HEDDATRON, an adaptation of Hedda Gabler featuring live robots which was produced by Les Freres Corbusier, NICKY GOES GOTH, which was first produced in 2004 in the New York Fringe Festival; and OLIVER, which will has been workshopped by the Vineyard Theatre. Ms. Meriwether is currently working on commissions from the Yale Repertory Theatre, Ars Nova, and Manhattan Theatre Club, and is also developing several projects for film.
Daniel Talbott: Recent Acting Credits include: THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR(Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis), MASTER BUILDER (Irish Rep), ROCKET CITY (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), TARTUFFE (McCarter Theatre/Yale Rep), MARAT/SADE(Classical Theatre of Harlem) and the feature film Pretty Bird. Recent Directing: Crystal Skillman's BIRTHDAY and NOBODY (Rising Phoenix Rep), THE UMBRELLA PLAYS (the teacup company/FringeNYC - Overall Excellence Award: Outstanding Play), FALL FORWARD (Sitelines/River to River Festival produced by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council), and THE REACHING (Rising Phoenix Rep). Recent Playwriting: SLIPPING (Rattlestick, The Side Project, International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival), WHAT HAPPENED WHEN (HERE Arts Center, The Side Project and published as part of the Plays and Playwrights 2008 anthology). Daniel received a 2007 New York Innovative Theatre Award for directing, a Drama-Logue Award and two Dean Goodman Choice Awards for acting, and was also named one of the 15 People of the Year 2006 by nytheatre.com. He is a graduate of Juilliard and of Solano College Theatre's ATP, and is a literary manager of Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and the artistic director of Rising Phoenix Rep.

Too Little Too Late is an Actors Equity approved showcase, and is being presented through HERE's Supported Artist Program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical and administrative support.
Since 1993, the OBIE-winning HERE Arts Center has been a premier arts organization in NYC and a leader in the field of new, hybrid performance work. Under leadership of Founding Artistic Director Kristin Marting and Producing Director Kim Whitener, HERE has served over 12,000 emerging to mid-career artists developing work that does not fit a conventional programming agenda. Work presented at HERE has garnered 14 OBIE awards, including the 2009 Ross Wetzsteon Award, an OBIE grant for artistic achievement, three Drama Desk nominations, two Berrilla Kerr Awards, three NY Innovative Theatre Awards, an Edwin Booth Award and a Pulitzer Prize nomination. HERE proudly supports artists at all stages in their careers through full productions, artist residency programs, festivals and subsidized performance and rehearsal space. Work at HERE is curated based on the strength and uniqueness of the artist's vision. HERE's Artist Residency Program (HARP) provides development, commissions and full production for up to 20 artists over one-to-three years. In 2005, with the support of the FJC, a foundation of donor advised funds, Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and the City of New York, HERE Arts Center purchased its long-time home as part of a five-year "Secure HERE's Future" campaign. With full-scale renovations to the space concluding in June 2008, thanks to generous support from the City of New York, HERE is poised to continue and expand its role as a downtown haven for the finest emerging art. Offering a comfortable, eclectic setting for artists and audiences alike, HERE features a café and two state-of-the-art performance spaces.
