Onomatopoeia Theatre Announces 2013 Season; Includes World-Premiere Play DRACULA: BLOODLINES, MACBETH and A DREAM PLAY

The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company (OTC), under the artistic direction of Thomas R. Gordon, will present 3 productions during their 2013 season - the 2nd season for the company.

With a season focused on dreams, the Onomatopoeia Theatre Company will present: William Shakespeare's MACBETH (April 25th-May 5th), the world-premiere of Thomas R. Gordon's DRACULA: BLOODLINES (August 22nd-September 8th), and August Strindberg's A DREAM PLAY (November 7th-November 17th). All three productions will be presented at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street).

The 2013 season will find The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company focusing on two things: "What are dreams?" and "What can be learned from them?"

MACBETH

April 25 through May 5

The OTC season will kick-off with an expressionistic take on Shakespeare's classic MACBETH (April 25th through May 5th), the story of a man who is willing to sacrifice anything for his own gain. But as Macbeth's dream of becoming king turns into his worst nightmare, his anger and desperation only grow. MACBETH begins previews on April 25 prior to an official press opening of April 28 at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street).

Directed by Thomas R. Gordon, MACBETH will feature a cast that includes: Christian Titus (as Macbeth), Danielle Patsakos (as Lady Macbeth), Thomas Mendolia, Emily Dalton, Joel Fullerton, Jocelyn Vammer, Charles Baker, Dana Gaubatz, Ivey Lowe, Erika Santosuosso and Charly Bivona.

The design team for MACBETH will be Zach Serafin (set design), Tasha Partee (Production Manager) Charlotte Gaspard (costume design) & Thomas R. Gordon (lighting and sound design).

Scheduled April 25 through May 5 MACBETH will have a paying schedule of Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 1:30pm. DRACULA: BLOODLINES by Thomas R. Gordon

August 22 through September 8

DRACULA: BLOODLINES, written and directed by OTC Artistic Director Thomas R. Gordon, will be presenTed August 22 through September 8 with an official press opening TBA at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street).

In DRACULA: BLOODLINES, it's one hundred twenty years after the events that Bram Stoker made famous, where Jonathan Harker and Abraham Van Helsing triumphed over Count Dracula. The people of New York City are collectively dreaming of vampires, in sighting speculation and terror and a struggle for the soul of Jonathan Harker's great-great-grandson, Morris Harker hangs in the balance.

The design team for DRACULA: BLOODLINES will be Zach Serafin (set design), Tasha Partee (Production Manager) Charlotte Gaspard (costume design) & Thomas R. Gordon (lighting and sound design).

A DREAM PLAY by August Strindberg

November 7 through November 17

A DREAM PLAY by August Strindberg will round-out the OTC season, playing November 7 through November 17. In this existential inspection of happiness and suffering which Strindberg called his "greatest joy", the daughter of Indra has come to earth seeking an understanding of humankind. Through her journey, she tries to understand why people can suffer in a world so beautiful and wonders if there is hope for humankind. Directed by Thomas R. Gordon A DREAM PLAY will have an official press opening that is TBA at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street).

The design team for A DREAM PLAY will be Zach Serafin (set design), Tasha Partee (Production Manager) Charlotte Gaspard (costume design) & Thomas R. Gordon (lighting and sound design).

Now in its second season, The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company is made-up of Thomas R. Gordon (Artistic Director), Tasha Partee (Production Manager), Charlotte Lily Gaspard (Costume Designer) and Zachary Serafin (Technical Director) and strives to not only entertain, enlighten and educate its audiences, fostering connections between local communities and organizations, as well as serving as a catalyst for further education, discussion and study about theatre and the arts. The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company also focuses on theatre that speaks for the underdog and is dedicated to producing shows that can change a person's heart and imagination. Previous productions include re-imagined productions of Chekhov's THE THREE SISTERS, Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST and Aristophanes' LYSISTRATA (set in modern-day Wall Street).
