Wide critical acclaim and brisk ticket sales have prompted Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, by special arrangement with Bob Boyett, to extend the run of David Ives' New Jerusalem, directed by Tony Award-winner Walter Bobbie, by an additional week through Sunday, February 10 at CSC  (136 East 13th Street).  New Jerusalem stars Tony Award winner Richard Easton, Fyvush Finkel, David Garrison and Jeremy Strong. Also featured in the cast are Jenn Harris, Michael Izquierdo and Natalia Payne.

Focusing on the 1656 interrogation of the noted philosopher Baruch De Spinoza by the Jewish community of Amsterdam for his controversial ideas, New Jerusalem examines the clash between religion and modernity that Jews, Christians and Muslims are still, some 350 years later, struggling to reconcile.

New Jerusalem
features set design by Tony Award-winner John Lee Beatty, costumes by Anita Yavich, lighting by Tony Award winner Ken Billington and sound by Acme Sound Partners.

New Jerusalem
is performed Tuesday through Fridays at 8:00; Saturdays at 2:00 and 8:00 and Sundays at 3:00, from December 28 through February 10.  For tickets and information, visit www.classicstage.org or call (866) 811-4111, or (212) 352-3101, or visit the CSC box-office at 136 East 13th Street, Monday through Friday 12 pm to 8 pm, or one hour prior to curtain on weekends.
