CONSENT, a new play written and directed by David Rhodes (Rites of Privacy, The Road to Skye) will premiere at The Black Box Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street), it was announced today by producers Michael T. Cohen, Robin Reinach, Andrew Baron Cohen and Ben Feldman. CONSENT begins a limited engagement on June 2nd with opening night set for June 11th.

Ron Sullivan, former pro-NFL player and award-winning architect, is experimenting with sexual freedom in his SoHo loft. Done with coming out and nearly divorced from his high school sweetheart, Ron has a chance encounter with Kurt, a hot Yale law student, that pushes him to the edge of his sexual boundaries . . . or beyond them. The passion that follows transforms both men, and ripples into the lives of Ron's wife and his sister Emily. Emily questions the ethics and risks of sex games, but it's ultimately up to the audience to determine who is seducing whom in the murky realm of power play and CONSENT.

The cast of CONSENT includes: Catherine Curtin ("Orange Is The New Black," The Lady of Dubuque, Love, Janis), Michael Goldstein (Belgrade Trilogy), Angela Pierce ("You Don't Know Jack," "Unburden") and Mark McCullough Thomas (Our Lady of 121st Street, "Guiding Light").

David Rhodes said, "Relationships can be incredibly sexy, but also incredibly scary, navigating power dynamics and personal needs while getting to know each other. My goal with CONSENT is to explore issues surrounding primal desire, vulnerability, passion and shame and to let the audience make up their own minds as to what transpired."

CONSENT has scenic design by Scott Tedmon-Jones (American Hero, Mother Jones and the Children's Crusade), costume design by Izzy Fields (The Crucible, The Trestle at Pop lick Creek), lighting design by John Eckert (If Colorado Had an Ocean, Mary-Kate Olsen is in Love), sound design by Chad Raines (Fairy Tale Lives of Russian Girls, From White Plains), video design by Chelsie McPhilimy (She Kills Monsters) and props by Addison Herren. Casting is by Callieri Casting.
