Irish Repertory Theatre presents THE SPECTACULAR SONGS OF LERNER AND LOEWE, this season's Benefit Gala production, on Monday, June 9th at 7 PM at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street).

This one-night-only celebration of one of Broadway's most beloved musical duos, features songs from hit shows such as MY FAIR LADY, GIGI, CAMLEOT, PAINT YOUR WAGON, and BRIGADOON, performed by a galaxy of Broadway stars. THE SPECTACULAR SONGS OF LERNER AND LOEWE, written and directed by Charlotte Moore, will feature a special appearance by Academy Award and Tony Award winner Joel Grey (CABARET), and performances by two-time Tony Award-winner John Cullum (THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, URINETOWN), Tony Award-winner James Naughton (CHICAGO, CITY OF ANGELS), Tony Award-winner Maryann Plunkett (ME AND MY GIRL), Tony nominee Malcolm Gets (AMOUR), Tony nominee Melissa Errico (MY FAIR LADY), Grammy Award-winning Metropolitan Opera baritone Nathan Gunn (CAMELOT), Theatre World Award-winner Josh Grisetti (ENTER LAUGHING), and Max Von Essen (EVITA).

There will be a post-performance dinner with the cast at Sardi's, the Theatre's legendary celebrity restaurant (234 West 44th Street). Irish Repertory's 2014 Annual Benefit Gala will honor Noel Kilkenny, Consul General of Ireland, and Hanora O'Dea Kilkenny. THE SPECTACULAR SONGS OF LERNER AND LOEWE has musical direction by John Bell (Irish Rep's TRANSPORT, DONNYBROOK!), and features a chorus that includes Diana Rose Becker, Lindsey Bliven, Sam Bolen, Alison Marie Bryant, Dewey Caddell, Ben Cherry, Kerry Conte, Sarah Cooney, Daniel Dunlow, Andrew Eckert, Katie Fabel, James Franch, Bonnie Fraser, Kimberly Immanuel, Robert Koutras, Analisa Leaming, Mary Malaney, Eliza McCoy, Kern McFadden, Georga Osborne, Alex Pearlman, Blake Segal, Lucy Sorensen, Seph Stanek, Harriet Taylor, Tonya Thompson, Lindsie VanWinkle, David Vogel, and Valerie Lynn Williams.

Director Charlotte Moore's recent staging credits include JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE . . ., DONNYBROOK!, NEW GIRL IN TOWN, Brian Friel's DANCING AT LUGHNASA and MOLLY SWEENEY, A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES, THE IRISH . . . AND HOW THEY GOT THAT WAY, and ERNEST IN LOVE. She has also directed the Irish Repertory Theatre's concert productions of OLIVER, CAMELOT and BRIGADOON on Broadway, as well as last year's Gala Benefit production of SOMETHING WONDERFUL! - The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein.

Irish Repertory's 2014 Benefit Gala performance of THE SPECTACULAR SONGS OF LERNER AND LOEWE marks the end of the Irish Rep's 26th season, which began last October with a critically acclaimed, twice-extended revival of Sean O'Casey's JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, directed by Ms. Moore, starring Drama Desk Award-nominee J. Smith-Cameron. That production was followed by the New York premiere A MIND-BENDING EVENING OF BECKETT, a presentation of three of Samuel Beckett's short plays, with direction and puppet design by Bob Flanagan, and IRT's annual holiday offering, this season a revival of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - The 1946 Live Radio Play, adapted by Anthony E. Palermo from the screenplay by Francis Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra and Jo Swerling, directed by Ms. Moore. 2014 began with the world premiere production of the musical TRANSPORT, with a book by acclaimed Australian author Thomas Keneally (Schindler's List) and music and lyrics by Larry Kirwan (founder of the iconic New York City band Black 47), directed by three-time Tony Award-winning director and designer Tony Walton. The final offering of the season, a revival of Gardner McKay's SEA MARKS, directed by Ciarán O'Reilly and starring Xanthe Elbrick and Patrick Fitzgerald, was recently extended and will be performed through July 13th.

Co-founded by Producing Director Ciarán O'Reilly and Artistic Director Charlotte Moore, Irish Repertory Theatre opened its doors in September 1988 with Sean O'Casey's THE PLOUGH AND THE STARS. The Irish Rep is currently the only year-round theatre company in New York City devoted to bringing Irish and Irish American works to the stage. Recognized with the Jujamcyn Theatres Award, a special Drama Desk Award for "Excellence in Presenting Distinguished Irish Drama," an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Achievement, and the Lucille Lortel Award for "Outstanding Body of Work," the Irish Rep has celebrated the very best in Irish theatre for over twenty-five years, from the masters to the new generation of Irish and Irish American writers who are transforming the stage.
