Broadway Belts for Bucks, a one-night-only kamikaze karaoke concert fundraising event featuring newly minted University of Michigan alumni along with Broadway veterans, begins July 15th at 7pm at the Lit Lounge.

Performers include Mark Ayesh (Rockers Anonymous), Ashley Blanchet (Annie, Memphis), Tyler Brunsman (Team Starkid’s A Very Potter Musical), Amanda Choate (Alice: the Musical), Britney Coleman (Team Starkid’s A Very Potter Musical), Talia Corren, Jen Foster, Bethany Heinrich (The Merchant of Venice), Mike Kelton, Kate Loprest (Wonderland, Xanadu, Little House on the Prairie national tour), Samantha Massell, Cara Massey (Legally Blonde), Sydney Morton (Memphis, Evita), Caitlin Lee Reid, Ted Stevenson, Maddy Trumble (Mary Poppins national tour, Newsies), and Charlene Kaye!

Guests come to see an intimate concert event featuring young Broadway talent, but the twist is the song line-up for the evening isn’t set; during the event, as patrons mingle, they can place bids for what song they’d like their favorite singer to perform by writing the title and their bid on the performer’s back. It can be anything from “All That Jazz” to “Baby Got Back”, and the song with the highest bid wins. The actors won’t know what song they’ll be singing until moments before hitting the stage.

Along with the karaoke fun there will be an auction including Broadway tickets, merchandise and other fun things you’ll have to be there to see.

Come out, have a blast, see some amazing singers, and support the upcoming off-Broadway production of ‘The Man with America Skin’ written by Seth Moore being produced in conjunction with the Araca Project.

The event is being produced by Alex Bisker, Stephanie Shechter and Nathan Lehmann.

Lit Lounge is located at 93 2nd Ave (between 5th & 6th St). Space is limited, so get your tickets HERE advance for $10 or pay $15 at the door. Use discount code BWAY to get 10 percent off your online ticket purchase.
