The cast, Kate Baldwin, Kevin Earley, Debbie Gravitte, Danny Gurwin and Lillias White, are veterans of such Broadway hits as The Full Monty, Les Misérables, Chicago, Urinetown, Dreamgirls and Thoroughly Modern Millie.The American Songbook series LYRICS & LYRICISTSTM was launched in 1970 when longtime Broadway conductor Maurice Levine and lyricist E.Y. "Yip" Harburg (The Wizard of Oz) had the series' first conversation about songwriting. The series has featured virtually every great Broadway and Hollywood lyricist over its three decades. In 2004, the 92nd Street Y reinvented the show yet again when it asked accomplished champions of the repertoire - John Pizzarelli, Andrea Marcovicci, Rob Fisher, Sheldon Harnick, and more - to present original programs in the Lyrics & Lyricists tradition: a combination of information and entertainment with a particular focus on lyrics.
