Lyrics and Lyricists™ 50th anniversary season will continue with You Send Me: The Song and Soul of Sam Cook on April 23, 24 and 25. Darius de Haas delves into the world of Sam Cooke – his gospel roots and triumphant 1964 engagement at the Copacabana; his classics of romance, and work as a trailblazing entrepreneur and civil rights activist.

Lyrics & Lyricists will return to the stage of the 92nd Street Y’s historic Kaufmann Concert Hall for the 50th anniversary season of the country’s preeminent American Songbook series. L&L features artists from theater and beyond presenting original shows with award-winning Broadway and cabaret performers.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in celebration of its 50thseason, will present The Algonquin Kid, a musical revue about growing up in the Algonquin Hotel, written by Michael Colby.

The great musician Corky Hale needs no introduction. She and her husband composer Mike Stoller have worked with everyone in the music business including Sinatra and Steisand. She is currently producing a revue entitled I Only Have Eyes For You about the music of Al Dubin. It will open at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre Friday May 13. On Monday, April 15, this one-night-only event features a conversation with Tony Award-nominated lyricist composer and librettist Michael John LaChiusa. As one of today's most innovative, prolific and honored artists, LaChiusa's credits include Giant (which recently garnered a Lucille Lortel Award nomination as "Outstanding Musical,") Queen of the Mist, See What I Wanna See and Marie Christine. Joining him as moderator is five-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, who has starred in several of his works and included his songs on her CDs Way Back To Paradise and Happy Songs.
