Winners of JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards Honored at N.J. Tourism Conference

Earlier today, the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and members of the state's tourism community honored the winners of the 2015 JerseyArts.com People's Choice Awards at the New Jersey Conference on Tourism in Atlantic City. Representatives from nonprofit arts organizations and other arts ambassadors accepted awards on behalf of 14 groups from across the Garden State.

"Today, we acknowledged members of our arts community that make New Jersey a better place to live, a better place to work and a better place to visit," said Adam Perle, President & CEO of ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and Vice President of the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association. "These awards help demonstrate how important our state's cultural community is to our tourism industry and the overall quality of life in New Jersey."

The annual People's Choice Awards recognize the work of the state's vital, vibrant and diverse arts organizations. Presented to the nonprofit arts groups voted on by the public, the Awards honor the work of nonprofit arts organizations and the effect they have on N.J. residents and visitors.

"The people of New Jersey really get it," said Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research and Policy at Americans for the Arts-the nation's arts advocacy organization-and one of the day's speakers. "The arts are so well infused in the tourism industry in the state, as well as at this conference."

Categories for the Awards range from favorite theater, symphony/orchestra and dance company to museum, film festival, downtown arts district and more.
