Uncouth business dealings and political shenanigans enliven the stage at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre as The Yardley Players present the political tale "Born Yesterday." Dates and times are Fridays, Sept. 21 and 28 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sept. 22 and 29 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Sept. 23 and 30 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on Sept. 21.

"Born Yesterday" follows the story of Harry Brock, a crude, corrupt junk dealer who decides his showgirl Mistress Billie Dawn's ignorance is becoming a liability to his somewhat illegal business dealings with a congressman. Brock hires a journalist, Paul Verrall, to help his girlfriend become more educated and refined, but his plans go awry when she smartens up to his wicked ways! Audiences will embrace Garson Kanin's award-winning comedy about politics and the power of female persuasion.

Cast members include Jen Hanselman of South River as Billie Dawn; Michael Sundberg of South River as Harry Brock; Joe Zedeny of Hightstown as Paul Verrall; Adam Nikolai of Plainsboro as Eddie Brock; Wayne Rossignol of Hamilton as Ed Devery; Walter Smyth of Trevose, PA, as Senator Hedges; Kathleen Kutalek of Hightstown as Mrs. Hedges; and Beverly Kuo-Hamilton of Princeton as Helen.

Ensemble cast members include Justin Ghaffoor of Hamilton, Abby Oliver of Hamilton, Dan Scieszka of Princeton, Ed Szemis of West Windsor, and Stephen Szemis of West Windsor.
