There are only three more opportunities to attend the award-winning East Lynne Theater Company's "Tales of the Victorians."The time is 4:00pm. While taking tea and tasting treats at these lovely B&Bs, professional storytellers and long-time ELTC favorites Stephanie Garrett and Lee O'Connor will read classic stories from the vast selection of America's rich repertoire, which includes works by O. Henry, Mark Twain, Chester Himes, and Zora Neale Hurston. Cost for this popular pastime is only $10.00, and like other ELTC events, children are always welcome, and, ages 12 and under are free.
Stephanie Garrett began her storytelling career at Historic Cold Spring Village over ten years ago where she specialized in early 19th Century Cape May County African American History. She has performed in ELTC's productions of "Christmas in Black and White," "Women and the Vote," "Rain," and "The People of Cape May v. Johan Van Buren." Lee O'Connor, ELTC's technical director, has portrayed Sherlock Holmes in all of ELTC's productions based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, including the company's popular radio-style adventures. He also appeared in ELTC's "The Leach Diaries," "The Dictator" (2001 production), "Dick Spindler's Family Christmas," and "Henry Sawyer and the Civil War." Other performing work includes "The Odd Couple" in Saigon while serving in Vietnam, and a road company of "Annie Get Your Gun."
