Daniel Beaty's THROUGH THE NIGHT Plays its final performance on 2/21 at Crossroads Theatre.

Through the Night is evidence of Daniel Beaty's continued artistic growth and development. This is a sophisticated play that deals with pressing contemporary themes, and the artistic collaboration between Daniel and director Charles Randolph-Wright has resulted in an elevated work that moves the piece to the forefront of American theater.

Written and performed by Daniel Beaty: As an actor, singer, writer, and composer Daniel Beaty has worked throughout the US, Europe, and Africa in a variety of styles ranging from television to solo concerts to theatrical productions to opera including performances at The White House, The Kennedy Center in tribute to Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, and The Apollo. Awards include 2007 Obie Award for Outstanding Writing and Performance, 2006 Ovation, Acclaim, & Everyday Freedom Hero Awards. Daniel is also the 2004 Grand Slam Champion at the world famous Nuyorican Poet's Café and The Fox Networks National Redemption Slam Champion.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright: Charles has built a dynamic and diversified career in directing, writing, and producing for theatre, television, and film. For the theatre, Charles' play BLUE, starring Phylicia Rashad, broke box office records in its premiere at Arena Stage, the Roundabout Theatre in NYC and the Pasadena Playhouse. Charles directing credits include the revival of GUYS AND DOLLS at Arena Stage, EMERGENCE-SEE (written by and starring Daniel Beaty) at the Geffen Theatre in LA, BLOOD KNOT at ACT in San Francisco, Brian Stokes Mitchell in his solo show LOVE/LIFE at Lincoln Center, the world premieres of TOUGH TITTY by Oni Faida Lampley at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and SENOR DISCRETION HIMSELF. Charles also collaborated on Bea Arthur, JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS, which toured internationally, including a Tony nominated run on Broadway.
