Chieli Minucci & Special EFX come to bergenPAC with special guest Bernie Williams, tonight, April 26th at 8PM. Guitarist, composer, and 3 times Emmy Winner Chieli Minucci is the leader of the Grammy-nominated jazz-fusion group Special EFX, which he co-founded with the late George Jinda in 1984. Special EFX is one of the most prominent world fusion groups of the era. Tickets are $39, $69 and available at Ticketmaster.com or bergenPAC.org or by calling the box office at 201 227 1030.

During the course of the band’s phenomenal rise to the top of the jazz charts, they released 25 CDs, including Chieli’s 8 solo releases and a live concert DVD. Seminal songs like “Daybreak”, “Cruise Control”, “Bella” and “Seduction” were among their chart-topping hits. Although Bernie Williams first captivated national attention as an all-star for the New York Yankees, his love for music runs as deep as his love for baseball. He has brought his mix of Latin and jazz sounds to fans lately, who are blown away by his musical talent. His 2009 Release “Morning Forward” featuring guest artists John Secada, Mike Stern and Bruce Springsteen was nominated for a Grammy as Best Instrumental Album.
