A Public Interview with Stephen Rea and Sam Shepard will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 in the Sitnik Theatre in the David and Carol Lackland Center, 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown. The event is free and open to the public.

Stephen Rea is an actor and director. He has appeared in many award-winning films, including Angel (1982), The Crying Game (1992), Interview with the Vampire (1994), Trojan Eddie (1995), Michael Collins (1995), The Butcher Boy (1997), End of the Affair (1998), and Breakfast on Pluto (2004). He is also a founding director, with the playwright Brian Friel, of the Field Day Theatre Company.

Field Day is currently producing Sam Shepard's A Particle of Dread (Oedipus Variations), directed by Nancy Meckler, in the Signature Theatre, New York.

Sam Shepard is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and actor. Among his many plays are Curse of the Starving Class (1976), Buried Child (1979), True West (1980), Fool for Love (1983), A Lie of the Mind (1985), The God of Hell (2004), Kicking a Dead Horse (2007) and Ages of the Moon (2009). As an actor his credits include The Right Stuff (1983), Fool for Love (1985), Steel Magnolias (1989), The Pelican Brief (1993), All the Pretty Horses (2000), The Pledge (2001), Black Hawk Down (2001), Mud (2012) and August: Osage County (2013).

The Lackland Center, located at 715 Grand Ave in Hackettstown, is home to the professional Centenary Stage Company, which produces and presents year-round theatre, music and dances events in the Skylands region to audiences of over 25,000 annually. Now in its 29th season, the Centenary Stage Company is a member of TCG- the Theatre Communications Group; NNPN - The National New Play Network, and the company employs members of AEA - Actors Equity Association, the national association of professional actors and stage artists.

Founded in 1867 by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church, Centenary College's academic program integrates a solid liberal arts foundation with a strong career orientation. This mix is designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students to succeed in the increasingly global and interdependent world. Centenary College's main campus is located in Hackettstown, N.J., with its equestrian facility in Washington Township (Morris County).
