The Centenary Stage Company, a professional Equity theatre in residence on the campus of Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ, will be holding interviews for the 2017-18 Internship in Acting and Arts Administration throughout April.

The CSC Internship offers qualified candidates the opportunity to serve as artistic interns for a season with the professional Centenary Stage Company, an Equity theatre in residence on the campus of Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.

CSC's Intern program provides each intern the opportunity to explore all aspects of theatre ranging from performance to administration to production. The program is geared toward candidates who have completed their undergraduate training, seeking to bridge the gap between the academic world and the world of professional theatre, helping young artists in need of a place to build their careers. An intern's duties involve a myriad of tasks and require an enthusiasm to work and to learn.

For interns with a performance focus have the opportunity to earn Equity Points through the Equity MembershipCandidacy Program (EMC) when cast in a main-stage show, and to work with professionals from all over the country. In addition, interns have the opportunity to perform with the CSC statewide Young Audience Touring Program. All interns will gain extensive, hands-on experience in day to day management of the business, including marketing, customer relations, house management, promotional design, social media relations, contracts and grantsmanship.

The aim of the Internship program is that interns leave with a clear understanding for how the business works on every level, and with real-world experience in a number of capacities using a wide range of skills.

The ideal candidate for this position should have strong communications skills, be comfortable working in a public environment and acting as a liaison to the patrons, have standard computer skills, including publisher and excel, and be comfortable in a box office position. A car is also necessary for this position.

A stipend is available for the internship position, however candidates should note that housing is notavailable for this position.
