Cabaret Icon Sidney Myer to Headline at Oakeside 6/30

NiCori Studios and Productions in association with Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center has announced a new monthly concert series, "Music at the Mansion", on Sunday, June 30, at 3pm. Performers include Ted Stafford and Lorinda Lisitza, Ami Brabson and Sidney Myer. The featured performer in the "Young Musician Moment" will be Henry Garner.

Ted Stafford and Lorinda Lisitza started performing together in their debut show, "The Ted and Lo Show" in 2012 and were thrilled to win the 2013 MAC Award for Best Duo/ Group. Lorinda is from Canada and Ted is from Wisconsin, which is kind of the same, except Ted has always had better access to cheese. Ami Brabson has had recurring roles in a number of television shows. She frequently appeared as Mary Pembleton in HOMICIDE: Life on the Streets. Ms. Brabson played Allison Trivas, a recurrring character in THE JURY, another Barry Levinson/Tom Fontana production. Other TV credits include UNFORGETTABLE, LAW & ORDER SVU, DAMAGES, LAW & ORDER, THE BEAT, WONDERLAND and various Soap Operas.

Ms. Brabson has appeared at numerous regional theaters. Some of her favorite roles include Quilly in John Henry Redwood's THE OLD SETTLER, Berniece in August Wilson's THE PIANO LESSON, Helena in Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Skoolie in Kia Corthoran's COME DOWN BURNING and Rose in August Wilson's FENCES. Ami is also an accomplished soprano. She has performed several concerts (including at MerKen Hall in NYC) of early American music with the group MELODIAN. Ms. Brabson received her MFA from the NYU, Tisch Graduate School of Acting.

As a Booking Manager for three decades (Don't Tell Mama, Rose's Turn and Panache), Sidney Myer has presented artists that have gone on to careers on Broadway, television and motion pictures and received the Emmy, Grammy, TONY, Oscar and Pulitzer Prize awards. In 2009, Mr. Myer was featured in the NY Times under the headline " Saviors of the American Songbook".
Sidney has performed Off-Broadway, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a regular on "The Joey Reynolds Show" and with Nancy Lamott in "I'll Be Here With You". He has entertained in many New York clubs and at the NY, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago, Hamptons, Palm Springs and London Mabel Mercer Cabaret Conventions. He is the recipient of MAC, Bistro and Mabel Mercer Foundation'S Cabaret Classic & Paula Laurence Awards.

"Music at the Mansion" is a 2013 MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) award nominated series showcasing talented performers from NYC and NJ. The series is hosted by NYC Cabaret singer and Bloomfield resident Corinna Sowers-Adler and features Deborah Martin on piano. This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. Series hostess, Corinna Sowers-Adler, has been nominated as "Best Host of a Variety Show" and "Best Female Vocalist" for the 2012 Broadway World Cabaret Awards.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door. Seating begins at 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
