Centenary Stage Company Begins 2021-22 Season This Weekend With Tribute To Aretha Franklin

Centenary Stage Company's 2021-22 Curtain Up! Gala performance, Portrait of a Queen starring CeCe Teneal, a tribute to Aretha Franklin will be held on Saturday, October 2 at 8:00 pm in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

Tickets for the Curtain Up! Gala performance of Portrait of a Queen starring CeCe Teneal are $27.50. Ticket prices increase by $5.00 the day of the performance, and a live stream link is available for purchase for $10.00. Centenary Stage Company's Curtain Up! Gala is the first event of the season, and this year will kick off with Portrait of a Queen starring CeCe Teneal. This concert tribute to Aretha Franklin is performed with interpretation by award-winning songstress CeCe Teneal. All of Aretha Franklin's greatest hits from her 50+ years in the music industry will be performed, including Chain of Fools, Natural Woman, Think, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Respect. This performance will be the first of many for Centenary Stage Company's 2021-22 Season and tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on-line at centenarystageco.org or by phone by calling the Centenary Stage Company box office at (908) 979-0900.

This Curtain Up! Gala event will include pre-show lobby music by select members of the R&B band Brass Roots. Dena Puglisi Bippart, John G. Reed, and Shawn Sutton will perform some of their favorite Brass Roots songs along with many other classics from the 60's to current favorites! Pre-show lobby entertainment and refreshments including a selection of wine, beer and specialty drinks will begin at 6:30 pm.
