Bring the entire family to experience a visually and musically exciting cultural holiday tradition with "El Sueño" (The Dream), a unique adaptation of the cherished holiday classic "The Nutcracker" performed by Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre, New Jersey's premiere Spanish Dance and Flamenco company. Back by popular demand (with NEW dances!), this vibrant production is celebrating its fifth year at the Kelsey Theatre (Mercer County Community College), located at 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ on Sunday December 13, 2014 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.

Three wonderful male dancers make this concert unique and have brought the audience to their feet in standing ovation each year - Navruz Baum, a talented 16 year-old dancing as the young Matador, with two professional dancers - special guest flamenco artist Peter Suarez coming from Florida to dance as the King Bull, and Alborada principal dancer Ricardo Santiago dancing as the adult Matador. Alborada principal dancers Lisa Botalico as the Queen Maja, and Eva Lucena as Tia María (the Spanish version of Drosselmeyer) round out the principal artists of this exciting production, together with Sarah Cruz and Sarah Yashar Gershman as the young girl Clarita, who dreams about fighting the bull and seeing and dancing the beautiful dances of Spain. Every year, Alborada changes some of the dances seen by Clarita during her dream, so new, exciting choreographies will always be seen.

Enjoy a Three Kings Day celebration with Clarita and her family and friends. After her friends break Clarita's matador doll, her aunt - Tia Maria - will use her magic to repair the doll and then take Clarita to her dream. There the matador doll magically comes to life, and you will experience his brave fight with the great King Bull. When Clarita saves the matador, the Queen Maja comes to whisk you & Clarita to the beautiful Land of the Majas, where you will enjoy fiery Gypsy Flamenco and exciting Spanish folkloric dances performed with live music, along with twirling dances from Latin America. Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre's widely-acclaimed professional dancers and talented young artists will provide you an unforgettable entertainment experience! Funded in part by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
