Virtuoso guitarist and visionary composer Steve Vai will perform at Concord's Capitol Center for the Arts at 8pm on Saturday, September 15, in support of his The Story of Light, a new solo album of original material, released on August 14 (Favored Nations Entertainment).Opening for Vai will be Beverly McClellan, most recently seen as a leading contestant on NBC's The Voice. Tickets are on sale now starting at $29.50.

From his self-released solo debut "Flex-Able" (1984) to his most certified Gold and Platinum DVD performance "Where The Wild Things Are" (2009), Vai creates a sound all his own by striking a balance between technical ability and poetic phrasing. "I make music to push my own buttons," explains Vai. "I've always been driven by an addiction to create sounds that are unique – not better than what other people do, just different."

Opening for Steve Vai will be Beverly McClellan. Most recently, Beverly has been seen playing alongside blues legend BB King, and on NBC's hit television show "The Voice" under Christina Aguilera's powerful and dynamic team. Ultimately, Beverly was not the winner on the series, but has become a rising blues icon nationally, with the push of her newest album entitled "Fear Nothing". Beverly is elated to be touring alongside such a unique and soulful artist such as Steve Vai.Her stunning power, range, and stage presence has drawn comparisons to Etta James, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and Melissa Etheridge, to name just a few of the great torchbearers whose legacies she evokes. Now McClellan's debut international release Fear Nothing presents her as a true and original artist - a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dynamic presence with the ability, authority and desire to carve her own place in music history.

In addition to regular concert ticket sales for his Concord date, Vai fans can purchase a unique and special premium package – the EVO Experience – which includes a meet and greet pass, a Q&A session with Steve Vai, access to sound check, a 2012 Story of Light Tour Program, an exclusive EVO Experience laminate and a number of other Vai merchandise items.
