Neil Simon's Tony Award-winning musical Sweet Charity opens this weekend at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, New Hampshire. Sweet Charity follows the misadventures of love encountered by the gullible and guileless Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess who always gives her heart and dreams to the wrong man.

The role of Charity is played by Andrea McCormick, a Haverhill, Massachusetts native who has performed on and off Broadway as well as across the country with varioUs Productions. "Anyone who has had trouble finding someone to love will identify with this show," said McCormick. "Charity is a poor soul who remains optimistic about finding love and a better life no matter what happens to her", she continued. Charity was portrayed on film by Shirley MacLaine in 1965 and Christina Applegate recently played the role in a recent Broadway revival.

Sweet Charity features favorite hits such as "Hey, Big Spender," and "If My Friends Could See Me Now". The show runs from May 8th through the 23rd. There is a Sunday matinee on Mother's Day! Tickets are available by calling the Palace Theatre Box Office at 603-668-5588, or by visiting http://www.palacetheatre.org
