The Music Hall's Writers in the Loft series welcomes to the stage the internationally bestselling author of The Kept Woman and Pretty Girls, Karin Slaughter, on Wednesday, August 23. She will talk about her latest work, THE GOOD DAUGHTER, a searing, spellbinding blend of cold-case thriller and psychological suspense, in conversation with #1 New York Times bestselling crime novelist Lisa Gardner.

The 7pm event includes an author presentation and moderated Q+A, plus book signing and meet-and-greet. It will be held at the Music Hall Loft at 131 Congress Street, in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

"I'm excited to welcome Karin Slaughter to The Music Hall Loft," said Patricia Lynch, Executive Producer of The Music Hall's Writers in the Loft series. "Her latest thrilling page-turner, THE GOOD DAUGHTER, is rich with family secrets, surprises, and suspense. We have a perfect moderator for this event: New Hampshire's own Lisa Gardner, a writer who knows first-hand what it takes to produce a top-notch thriller."

Moderator Lisa Gardner said THE GOOD DAUGHTER, "enter the world of Karin Slaughter. Just be forewarned, there's no going back." Join us for an evening with these two acclaimed authors and hear the story behind THE GOOD DAUGHTER.

Charlotte and Samantha Quinn's happy small-town family life was torn apart by a terrifying attack on their family home. It left their mother dead. It left their father - Pikeville's notorious defense attorney - devastated. And it left the family fractured beyond repair, consumed by secrets from that terrible night.

Twenty-eight years later, Charlie has followed in her father's footsteps to become a lawyer herself - the ideal good daughter. But when violence comes to Pikeville again and a shocking tragedy leaves the whole town traumatized, Charlie is plunged into a nightmare. Not only is she the first witness on the scene, but it's a case that unleashes the terrible memories she's spent so long trying to suppress. Because the shocking truth about the crime that destroyed her family nearly thirty years ago won't stay buried forever. Packed with twists and turns, brimming with emotion and heart, THE GOOD DAUGHTER is fiction at its most thrilling.
