Harry Connick Jr. just added at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for Thursday, April 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 18.

Over the past two decades, Harry Connick, Jr. has proven to be among the world's most successful and multi-talented artists. While he first reached a mass audience as a pianist, singer and bandleader, his subsequent success in theatre, film, and television have secured his place in the public eye as a renaissance man and a versatile entertainer second to none, garnering him both Grammy and Emmy awards as well as Tony nominations.

Connick achieved initial widespread success as a musician when director Rob Reiner asked him to contribute the score to the 1989 smash When Harry Met Sally, leading to Connick's first multi-platinum album. Harry's music has also contributed to the success of such films as Godfather III, Sleepless in Seattle, The Mask and One Fine Day. He made his acting debut in 1990 in the film Memphis Belle, followed by his appearance in Little Man Tate, Jodie Foster's directorial debut, and as the psychopath in Copycat. Connick's other memorable films include Hope Floats alongside Sandra Bullock, P.S.,I Love You with Hillary Swank, and the 2009 release New in Town. Connick's television work includes two holiday specials built around his best selling holiday albums When My Heart Finds Christmas (CBS) and Harry for the Holidays (NBC), two Great Performances/PBS concert specials, Swingin' Out Live and the 2004 Emmy-winning Harry Connick, Jr.: Only You In Concert, and The Happy Elf, a one-hour 3D animated holiday TV special which aired on NBC. ConNick Starred opposite Glenn Close in the ABC TV adaptation of the musical South Pacific, portrayed Dr. Dennis Slamon in the Lifetime Network biopic Living Proof, and played the recurring role of Dr. Leo Markus on the NBC series Will & Grace.
Connick is no stranger to the New York theater scene.

After a critically acclaimed, 15 day sold-out run on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre, Columbia Records will release a DVD and Live CD of Harry Connick, Jr. IN CONCERT ON BROADWAY on March 1, 2011. The show will also air on PBS on March 2nd as part of the national "Great Performances" series. The New York Times said "Harry scores a knockout" and Variety called it "Dynamite. Easily the most remarkable demonstration of musicality presently on display on Broadway." His return to Broadway marked the 20th anniversary of his sold-out concert series at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in 1990. Connick also received Tony nominations for his performance as Sid Sorokin in The Pajama Game and for the music and lyrics he composed for Thou Shalt Not which was directed by Susan Stroman.
These diverse stage and screen achievements - not to mention his two dozen albums with sales of over 25 million, three Grammy awards, and the success of his worldwide tours with the Harry Connick, Jr. Big Band - reflect a creative energy that make Harry Connick Jr. unique in the world of contemporary entertainment.
