Lynn University and Jan McArt, Director of Theatre Arts Program Development, announced the opening performance of the 2011-2012 season of the LIVE AT LYNN Theatre Series at the beautiful Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center:

October 15-16

+ Saturday - 7:30 p.m.

+ Sunday - 4 p.m.

Clint Holmes

Clint Holmes is more than a singer. His powerful voice and magnetic stage presence embrace the upbeat side of life. His first break came when Joan Rivers invited him to be her sidekick and announcer on the now defunct The Late Show. This was followed by a two-year stint on Entertainment Tonight for which he served as their musical feature and event correspondent, and later landed his own Emmy winning talk/variety show entitled, New York at Night. Among his various recordings are the Top Ten smash hit Playground In My Mind (My Name is Michael). A Las Vegas favorite, Clint Holmes was selected as "Best Kept Secret" by Las Vegas Life Magazine, and "Best Singer" (two years in a row), "Best All-Around Las Vegas Performer" and "Favorite Male Las Vegan" by the Review-Herald.

Named "Entertainer of the Year" in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, Holmes' casual elegance and silky vocal stylings have a magical way of filling a room with a warm, comfortable sound. His appearances at The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and The Colony Hotel's Royal Room Cabaret, along with his Sammy Davis Jr. material with the Palm Beach Pops, have made him a return-demand favorite locally.

Reviews of Clint Holmes:

+ Los Angeles Times: "There is no show as musically sophisticated and adventurous as Clint Holmes'. His sweet, user-friendly personality obscures just how musically sophisticated and wonderful his show has become over the years as it has gravitated away from pop and into corners ranging from jazz to opera."

+ The New York Beacon: "Singer/dancer/composer/lyricist/comedian, Clint Holmes has made a success of every endeavor he has ever tried. His name is not yet a household word, but judging from the enthusiastic response he's been getting, it's only a matter of time."

+ Las Vegas Weekly: Anyone "looking for an amazing headliner experience... (is) advised to see Clint Holmes."

Tickets are $45/mezzanine, $50/orchestra, and $65/box. They are available for purchase at the Lynn University Box Office, located in the Wold Performing Arts Center at 3601 N. Military Trail. Tickets also may be purchased online at http://our.lynn.edu or by phone at 561.237.9000.
