Mystic Theater is proud to present award-winning comedian Mary Dimino's one woman show BIG DUMMY: Me & My Old Man for their Fall 2016 season.

Mystic is Rumford's year-round theater, casting its talent from both local, national and the New York City talent pool, providing quality theater, improv, stand up comedy and magic shows in a uniquely elegant location. The newly renovated Mystic Theater, formerly an historic Methodist Church, seats over 400 and was refurbished to maintain its historical integrity. Opening its doors in 2010, the Mystic Theater presented Mary Dimino's hit solo play SCARED SKINNY as one of their first theatrical events. Opening for Dimino was Sassi Kegan's Girl in the Mirror. Dimino also headlined the venue's stand up concert in conjunction with performing her play Scared Skinny. Dimino's Maine tour followed her sold-out run and award win for Best Solo Show in the New York International Fringe Festival.

Mystic Theatre's presenters are "looking forward to another magical night with Mary Dimino," this time with her latest solo show. BIG DUMMY is winner of the United Solo Award of Theater Row and garnered Critic's Pick from Show Score. BIG DUMMY is about her educationally challenged father and, as Dimino coins it, "growing up smarter than your father in a funny, factory-working family from Queens." In BIG DUMMY: Me & My Old Man, Dimino recalls her father's simple philosophy on life, which she later interpreted to be a cross between Aristotle and Forrest Gump. It was only long after Dimino became an adult that she realized dad is brilliant, as is.

Mary Dimino is a familiar face on television. She can be seen often as the new spokesperson for Life Reimagined, starring in both the national network and print ad campaigns.

Mary Dimino is a MAC Award Winner for Outstanding Female Comedian and a Gracie Allen Award winning actress. Dimino earned the New York International Fringe Festival Overall Excellence Award for Outstanding Solo Show (Scared Skinny). Her book, Scared Skinny No More, based on her autobiographical show, is published by Sunbury Press and debuted #10 on their Best Seller List.

Mary Dimino's TV appearances include NBC's Today Show, FOX, PBS, HBO's Chris Rock Show, VH-1's Best Week Ever, Comedy Central's Graham Norton Effect, NY-1, American Movie Classics Movie Moments, sketches on Late Shows with David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, SNL, and numerous national commercials. On stage she has played the Maid of Honor in Tony & Tina's Wedding, Carmella in Surprise, and Vidalia in the off-Broadway hit My Big Gay Italian Funeral at St. Luke's Theater. She is a regular member of the nationally touring stand-up comedy troupe The Italian Chicks.

Mary Dimino's performance dates are Friday November 25 and Saturday November 26, 2016 at 8:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased by visiting http://big-dummy.com/ or at the Mystic Theater Box Office, located at 49 Franklin, Rumford Maine.
